Active Stretch
This 15-minute stretching session will help you increase joint and muscle range of motion, decrease post exercise recovery time and promote stress reduction. Meet on the blue sprint lanes in front of the rowers. (15 min)

Boomer Classes

Boomer Balance and Strength (Level I class)
In this class for age 50+, you will work with weights, tubing and other props to solely focus on increasing your balance, flexibility and strength. Standing and chair-based exercises are adapted to individual needs. Meet in the group fitness studio. (60 min)

Boomer Grab Bag (Level I class)
This class for individuals age 50+ combines both strength training and low impact aerobics into one full-body class. All fitness levels welcome. Meet in the group fitness studio. (60 min)

Boomer Low Impact Aerobics (Level I class)
This class for age 50+ individuals focuses on muscle strengthening, low impact aerobics and balance exercises. All fitness levels welcome. Meet in the group fitness studio. (60 min)

Boomer Tai Chi
Boomer Tai Chi for Arthritis
(Level I class)
This gentle class focuses on fluid, circular movements that are relaxed and slow in tempo. The program is safe and simple, delivers relief from arthritis and enhances relaxation. Meet in the group fitness studio. (60 min)

Cardio Classes

2-Hour Ride
This class includes a great cardiovascular workout PLUS an intensity-free ride to relax the mind. Note: This class is not held every month. Check the schedule for dates and times. Please bring water and a towel (no headset necessary). Registration required (limited number of bikes). Call 274.3432 ext. 216 or sign up at the service desk. Meet in the group fitness studio. 90-Minute Cycle (Level III class)
This is a structured ride that is twice the regular class. It is twice as long and twice as challenging!  Note: This class is not held every month. Check the schedule for dates and times. Please bring water and a towel (no headset necessary). Registration required (limited number of bikes). Call 274.3432 ext. 216 or sign up at the service desk. Meet in the group fitness studio. (90 min)

Boot Camp (Level III class)
Boot camp is a challenging and exhausting total body workout that includes resistance training, ab work, cardio and endurance. This class meets every Wednesday except during the week of Boot Camp Plus. Bring water and meet on the back patio (weather permitting) or on the blue sprint lanes. (60 min)

Boot Camp Plus (Level III class)
You asked for a hard-core challenge. Add another thirty minutes to this great workout one time each month with Drill Sergeant Steven Kass. Bring water. Meet on the back patio (weather permitting) or on the blue sprint lanes. (90 min)

Cycle
Cycle
(Level I - Level III class)
This high-energy cardiovascular workout uses various performance levels and speeds, allowing you to work at your own pace. A 40+ minute ride followed by stretching. Please bring your own FM radio/ headset to hear the instructor, water and a towel. Saturday Cycle: This class meets every Saturday except during the week of Ride-4-Ninety, 2hr Extreme Ride or the 3-Hour Endurance Ride. Meet in the cycle area. (60 min)

Extended Cycle (Level I - Level III class)
This 70-minute ride has all the benefits of a cycle class with extra endurance thrown in. A cool down and stretching round out the workout. Please bring your own FM radio/headset to hear the instructor, water and a towel. Meet in the cycle area. (75 min)

Intro to Boot Camp (Level I class)
This challenging 30-minute workout which includes resistance training, cardio & abs, is the same as the hour long class, just shorter in length perfect for trying it out! Meet on the back patio (weather permitting) or on the blue sprint lanes. (30 min)

Ride-4-Ninety (Level III class)
This class is totally unstructured and lower intensity than other cycle classes. It concentrates on endurance rather than speed. Note: This class is not held every month. Check the schedule for dates and times. Please bring water and a towel (no headset necessary). Registration required (limited number of bikes). Call 274.3432 ext. 216 or sign up at the service desk. Step Class
Step II
(Level II - Level III class)
Keep your heart pumping with increased intensity and intermediate-level choreography plus strength and flexibility training. Meet in the group fitness studio. (60 min)

Step III (Level III class)
Take your step class up a notch with this fast-paced class that features creative and more-complex choreography. This high-intensity cardio class is designed to challenge the very fit. Meet on the auxiliary court. (60 min)

Zumba
Zumba®
(Level I - Level III class)
Zumba combines high energy and motivating Latin and International music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their worries. Zumba is not only great for the body, but is also great for the mind. Meet in the group fitness studio. (60 min)

Les Mills Classes

(Level II - Level III class)
BODYCOMBAT™ is a non-combat, martial arts-based fitness program with moves drawn from Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Kung Fu, traditional and Muay Thai kickboxing, and Tai Chi. Each class is choreographed to 10 tracks of the latest music, providing an exhilarating exercise experience that delivers ultra-fast fitness results. Meet on the auxiliary court. (60 min)

(Level II - Level III class)
BODYJAM™ is the cardio workout where you are free to enjoy the sensation of dance. An addictive fusion of the latest dance moves and hottest new sounds puts the emphasis as much on having fun as breaking a sweat. Funky instructors teach you to move with attitude! So grab a friend, get front and center and get high on the feeling of dance. Meet in the group fitness studio. (60 min)

(Level I - Level III class)
BODYPUMP™ is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for and fast! Meet on the auxiliary court. (60 min)

Mind/Body Classes

2-Hour Yoga
This two hour Vinyasa yoga class is designed for the intermediate to advanced yoga practioner. The sequence is energetic and includes all classes of poses: standing, hand balancing, inversions, hip openers, twists and back bends. A constant focus on proper alignment and connecting the breath and movement is emphasized. Come prepared to be challenged and with the intent to have fun! Space is limited so arrive early. Meet in the group fitness studio. (120 min)

Mst Pilates
Mat Pilates
(Level I - Level III class)
This class emphasizes the mind-body connection while enhancing and improving posture, muscular balance, strength and flexibility. With most exercises performed on the mat, this exercise system is challenging both mentally and physically and works the entire body through focusing on core muscles. Meet in the group fitness studio (Tuesday and Thursday Noon classes meet on the auxiliary court and Thursday evening class meets in Pilates Studio I on the main level). (50 min)

Power Yoga (Level II - Level III class)
This athletic style of classic and modern yoga builds strength, flexibility and concentration and emphasizes a progressive series of postures commonly synchronized with breath. Meet in the group fitness studio (bring your own mat). (Morning class 90 min; Evening class 60 min)

Restorative Yoga (Level I class)
Let go of stress as you sink into a supported stretch. This soothing form of yoga stimulates and soothes glands and organs and uses breath to help warm and lengthen muscles. Poses can help heal the effects of chronic stress and improve your feeling of well-being. Meet in the group fitness studio (bring your own mat). (60 min)

RyuTe® (Level I - Level II class)
The goal of this ancient life protection art of Okinawa and China is to stop conflict before it starts. In addition to striking, kicking and blocking, RyuTe includes grappling, locking and escape techniques. For more information, email Richard Cornell. Meet on the auxiliary court. (120 min)

Gently transition into your busy day with this morning yoga class. Work on flexibility and strengthen specific areas to awaken both the mind and body. Meet in the group fitness studio (bring your own mat). (60 min)

Yoga I (Level I class)
This express class focuses on the names and correct positions of yoga poses and is a great preparation for higher-level yoga classes or as a refresher class. Meet in the group fitness studio (bring your own mat). (45 min)

Yoga Flow
(Level I - Level II class)
Yoga Flow is an energetic sequence that stimulates circulation and body heat to open joints and stretch muscles. The focus is on breath and observing what is happening in our individual bodies. Beginners are welcome. Meet in the group fitness studio (bring your own mat). (60 min)

Strength & Conditioning Classes

After-Burn (Level III class)
This metabolism-boosting circuit class is designed to maximize your body's own fat-burning potential through improvements in body composition and the "after-burn" effect. Registration required. Call 274.3432 ext. 216 or stop by the service desk. Meet on the blue sprint lanes. (60 min)

Beginning BOSU (Level I class)
Introducing the BOSU Balance Trainer for individuals starting from the beginning. Great way to improve your balance and stability and prepare you for the next level of BOSU training. Registration required. Call 274.3432 ext. 216 or stop by the service desk. Meet on the blue sprint lanes. (30 min)

BOSU Conditioning (Level I - Level III class)
BOSU (Both Sides Utilized) conditioning class incorporates the BOSU Balance Trainer into the entire workout session. The focus is on the whole body — cardiovascular endurance, strength, balance and core stability. Each class includes a short introduction and warm up with the BOSU ball followed by a full-body, circuit-style workout that will challenge even the fittest (all fitness levels are welcome)! Circuit II
(Level II - Level III class)
Mix strength training with cardiovascular training for a time-efficient, calorie-burning workout. You will use various fitness props in this fast-moving circuit. Meet at the track desk. (30 min)

Core and More
(Level II class)
Improve your core, balance and strength using the stability ball, medicine ball and other props. This is a solid core workout that will tone and tighten your body. Meet on the auxiliary court. (45 min)

COREsolution (Level I - Level III class)
This core-focused class will tone, tighten and strengthen your mid-section. Meet on the blue sprint lanes in front of the rowers (Monday noon class meets in the group fitness studio). (15 min)

Extreme Core (Level I – Level III class)
Enhance your core workout with this 30 minute class. Get the same core-focused workout in an extreme version. Meet on the auxiliary court. (30 min)

Extreme Strength (Level I - Level II class)
Increase muscular strength and endurance with this total body workout. Isolate and define your upper and lower body muscles using hand weights, resistance tubing and bodybars. Meet in the group fitness studio. (60 min) 

Fit Conditioning (Level I - Level III class)
This class is a circuit-inspired mix of cardio and strength training.  Meet on the blue sprint lanes. (60 min)

Aqua Fitness Classes at the IU Natatorium

Aqua Fitness

This water-based class is a great way to obtain an all-around strength training workout. Aqua Fitness is a high-intensity, but non-impact aerobic exercise and uses the resistance of the water to give you a great workout. Available in both deep and shallow water.
